Wacky Waters!

Boy, did we get some rain last night! Two to four inches here in the cities, up to five inches overnight near Maquoketa (to the north).

The first pic is the flooded parking lot at Southpark Mall, followed by a pic of the drainage ditch next to the mall. Notice the heavy debris caught under the overpass--normally, you can walk upright under this overpass. Also, the water itself extended all the way across this pic. You just can't see it for all the debris!

This is the Gordman's near Southpark, and the flooded ditch between Gordman's and John Deere Road. If you'll notice that blue dumpster in the foreground--it's supposed to be sitting in the background, just to the left of Gordman's. I assume the flood waters picked it up & moved it here. The water was higher last night.
Here is a pic of the street between Lowe's and The Great Escape theater in Moline. This road always floods when it rains, but since this rainfall was fast & heavy, it's worse than usual. It's hard to tell from the pic, but the debris line shows it was about a foot higher last night sometime.

The last one is my neighbor Cindy's ditch. She's two houses up from me, and her ditch always seems to hold the water (I think they need to have their culvert dug out.....).
