Million Dollar View

Brad, Leo & I took a drive up to Eagle Point Park in Clinton on Sunday. If you've never been there, it's worth the drive. Absolutely gorgeous views! Here's Leo & Brad checking out the scenery with the sightseeing rigs.

Now, a word of caution. Notice the trail here fenced off....? We didn't realize until we were at the end of the nifty stone trails that they are actually closed! By then, we knew why. The trails have deteriorated over time, and there are several very dangerous spots. The trail used to snake its way all the way down to the river but at one point, the trail actually drops off--if you're not watching, you'll plunge over 50 feet! If you go, do not venture too far on the stone trails, and by all means, don't let the little kiddies loose!

That said, it's still a really nice place to take a walk, as long as you stay on the maintained trails.
Notice the sheer drop--the trail is on the left, behind a low stone wall.

This part, near the parking lot, is a really nice spot to walk--especially with the fall color!

At some point, this must have been a really nice network of trails, and it could be again. I hope & pray the city of Clinton will see fit to spend a little money on this park--it's like a diamond in the rough!
