Finally on the Ball Again!

Just a quick update--so you know where I've been lately....
After having abdominal pain all this year (had gall bladder out, had portal vein thrombosis, followed by hospitalization for sick liver, followed by NUMEROUS ER visits for pain) I finally went to Iowa City to have an ERCP done by Dr. Johlin 9Professor Johlin, actually) who specializes in this procedure. He's also involved in researching newer methods to make the procedure safer, with less risk of panceratitis (the most dangerous and frequent complication). Well, he did a fine job on me--no pancreatitis, and I went home the next afternoon. I feel pretty good--still some pain, but it gets less each day. Dr. Johlin had to make a number of cuts in my Sphincter of Oddi, and also had to put a stent in, to help things drain until it heals. The stent should pass on its own in a couple weeks. Then, hopefully, I will not have any more issues with this pain.....
Anyway, that's the update. Now I will work on posting more fun items~!
