North Brady Open House

WAY back on May 31, North Brady Animal Hospital had their annual open house. I met my friend Ruth & her family. I had been in pain so much since then, I just never got a chance to post. Well, anyway, we hope my pain is done, so here it is! This lucky kitty was the "demo" for the grooming department. He is getting the "Lion Cut", and it's not hard to see why it's called that. You might think any self respecting cat would die of mortification from this, but this guy was actually quite calm. And being a Persian, without a summer haircut, he'd suffer from the heat (not to mention hairballs....).
They had the cutest set up for demonstrating their surgery and dental area. Stuffed animals "stood in" for the real thing--they had all the monitors, heated blankets, and other equipment hooked up to our fake furry friends. This big brown dog was on the dental table.
And this little gray kitty was preparing for surgery. It was pretty neat seeing how well they care for the animals during procedures.

Ruth's daughter Maddie giving serious consideration to choosing art for her face painting (done by Dr. Scott's wife).
Hold still, Maddie--don't want that unicorn to have two noses!
The finished product--voila~!
Maddie holding a snake. Now, come on, snakes are wonderful creatures! Without snakes, we'd be overrun by bugs and mice.
Jack having his turn with the snake. Maybe he wants a snake for a pet....maybe his parents are shaking their heads vigorously at that idea!
