We headed to the zoo this morning with friends, and it was a really nice time. The weather was perfect (72 and partly cloudy) and since we went early, it wasn't too crowded.
Here's Leo feeding a lorakeet in the Lorakeet Feeding Station. Here, you can buy a small cup of nectar, and go into the aviary (filled with lorakeets) and the birds will land on your hand to eat. Of course, they also land on your shoulders, your head, etc., and often leave a little "deposit". Well, I guess that's a hazard of "interactive exhibits".
Next is Leo on the carousel, being a goof. Niabi zoo will soon have a new African exhibit, which will include several giraffes, and a feeding platform, where we can feed the giraffes--what a blast! We'll certainly be getting pics of Leo feeding the giraffes--I hear they have long, slimy tongues.....
