Old Lutheran Hospital Demo

Many of you who are local may remember the old Lutheran and Moline Public Hospitals, which used to be on either side of 7th Street in Moline. Moline Public was demolished several years ago, as was the bulk of Lutheran. The only part left is the old Nurses' Dormitory building, which is being prepared for demolition later this month. I stopped by the place this morning and took some pics. They have essentially gutted the building, salvaging every bit of scrap that's worth anything. If any of you were ever in this building when it was still in use, you'll recognize some of the first floor rooms.


This walkway used to connect the dorms to the hospital. Evidently, some mischievous soul decided to write some amateur philosophy on it. Click on the pic to get a better view. Though there is some truth to this quip, I still think the guy needs a new hobby.......
