Brad had to take a look at a jobsite in Morrison (again) so I rode along. We went up through Clinton on the way, and saw some demolition going on. Notice the sprayer on the lower left. It sprayed a water mist on the place as it was being torn down, to keep down the dust. I don't know what this place was, though I'm going to guess it had something to do with the nearby grain processing plant. Another clue is the picture on the tower (below).
I'm not sure what the Planter's Peanut guy had to do with the place. Anyone know anything about it....?
In Morrison, it was evidently the town garage sale day. There were sales all over the place, many with interesting "grabbers" to draw in the customers--like this fellow on the ATV. I'm pretty sure it's just a big stuffed animal, but I wasn't going to go up to it & ask.
Another fine example of the creativity of the Morrisonians. Honestly, I'm not sure how welcoming this guy is, but it did get my attention.......
I also noticed this old phone booth. In this age of cell phones, pay phone booths are a dying breed--and this old one has seen better days (notice the grass growing up in the corner--inside!). But it appears to be in working order. The electricity & phone lines were intact, and appeared to be newer. I should have tried it out, but I was a little too scared of cooties!
