Well, no pics with this post (there's a first time for everything....). But I had to relate our Thanksgiving experience.
Leo is out of town with his grandparents for a week, which left me, Brad and my mom to figure out what to do with the day. I didn't see the point in fixing a big spread for three people, so we went to Bud's Skyline Inn near the airport (they had advertised that they'd be open Thanksgiving). We were expecting the usual dry turkey or anemic ham slice with equally dry & anemic sides. Not so at Bud's! WOWEE was that great food! We all got the ham dinner, which came with two VERY generous slabs of delicious ham, a mountain of garlic mashed potatoes (with the skins--yummy!) & a heap of flavorful (not dry) stuffing, both covered with a yummy gravy, a pile of scrumptious yams in a sweet sauce, with a side of cranberry sauce--and all this followed by a big wedge of pumpkin pie with whipped cream. Now, this stuff was "real", no canned garbage--served fast & friendly. The meal was $12.95 per person, but we each could have gotten three meals out of that platter-o-plenty. We all took home doggie boxes.
So, if you decide you don't want the hassle of fixing a big meal next year, or if you only have a few people to entertain, I'd highly recommend Bud's. By the way, you could also order off the regular menu, if ham or turkey wasn't your thing. And they have frog legs......if THAT'S your thing!
