While Leo & I were out & about taking ice pics, we came across this odd scene. Four deer sitting very calmly & contentedly beneath a tree not 50 feet from a row of houses! Normally, these critters are quite secretive & well concealed, so it surprised us to see a group lounging so easily in broad daylight, so near humans. I guess these Bettendorf deer must feel quite safe & secure here. I suspect the residents probably feed them, making them somewhat more tame than their "country "counterparts!
Sorry the pics are a bit grainy--I had to zoom all the way, and my camera isn't as nice as I'd like. Maybe next year I'll have the Canon Rebel of my dreams.....
